Difference Maker Spotlight: Kaitie Wade
In the world of law enforcement, there are many ways to make a positive impact on someone. We are highlighting the efforts of individuals who work for or with the Iowa City Police Department - many of them civilians - to connect the people we serve with resources, build relationships, or be a source of stability during a difficult time. We call it the "Difference Maker Spotlight."
Kaitie Wade serves as a Law Enforcement Mental Health Liaison. An employee of CommUnity Crisis Services, Kaitie is embedded in the Police Department and co-responds to assist individuals in the community experiencing a mental health crisis. Through her work, Kaitie helps the ICPD reach its goals to divert those experiencing a crisis from the hospital or jail.
