"A Celebration of the CARE Act" and is an event to bring awareness and education to this new law as well as celebrate its passing.
Nearly 317,000 Iowa residents are caring for an older parent or loved one, helping them to live independently at home. These family caregivers have a huge responsibility, and now there's support in place that will make life a little bit easier for them.
A new law, the Iowa CARE Act, went into effect July 1, 2019 and supports family caregivers when their loved ones go into the hospital and as they transition home.
The celebration was held at the Coralville Public Library, Schwab Auditorium on Monday, July 29, 2019. The event was presented by AARP Iowa, Johnson County Task Force on Aging and Johnson County Livable Community. Video provided by CoralVision.
