Acceptable Use Policy
The City of Iowa City Cable TV Division reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the user agreement without prior notice to the user. It is the responsibility of the user to regularly review the terms of this agreement.
As this site is a part of Cable TV Division program, it will follow our Production Guidelines, which are included below.
Our blog is moderated, and posts that do not comply with those guidelines will be deleted.
The City of Iowa City's Cable TV Division Production Policies and Guidelines
The Cable TV Division follows the Federal Communication Commission's rules of cablecasting in addition to the following policies and guidelines:
1. Personal attacks on individuals will not be permitted and individual privacy rights will be respected to the fullest extent possible, recognizing the nature of the cablecast format. Accordingly, personal attacks on individuals and exposing persons' names and addresses, and/or other personal information on programs produced by Cable TV Division, when in the sole determination of Division management, there exists no legitimate basis for disclosing such information, shall not be permitted;
2. There will be no obscene or indecent language or information allowed on programs produced by the Cable TV Division;
3. There will be no promotion of crime, violence, cruelty to human beings and animals on programs produced by the Cable TV Division;
4. There will be no programs produced promoting a particular religious point of view on City Channel 4 or Interactive Channel 5;
5. Programs produced by the Cable TV Division will make every effort to insure balanced coverage of all issues explored. However, the Division is under no obligation to include particular guests or topics;
6. Additional prohibited subject areas of programming may be determined as necessary by the City of Iowa City or it's designated representatives.
